My name is Mari. I am an Italian aspiring translator and journalist.
My studies (I've been writing my Master's Degree thesis for years now 🎻 ) have revolved around French literature, but I've dabbled in studying classic English and German lit as well.
I've always wanted to write, but something has been stopping me these past few years. I'm opening a blog (private for now) as a bit of a training and I'm hoping to find here a motivating and inspiring community. :)
Hello @Fare_tra and welcome! No fear posting drafts or unpolished words here as that's what the writing.exchange is about.
@Fare_tra welcome to our little community! I trust you will find it welcoming, and eventually perhaps want to share some thoughts with us! Maybe not but likely so. what is the focus of your degree/thesis? German lit and french lit are cool.. it is amazing how worldly actual writing with a philosophical basis appears in stark contrast to “american culture,” or lack thereof/therein. :)
@Ramo Hi! Thank you so much for your welcome. Being very insecure, the idea of sharing my thoughts and writings is kind of stressfull :D but! I created this account to put myself out there and meet fellow minded people so... let's do this!!
My thesis is about Maurice Maeterlinck, a Belgian symbolist writer, more specifically about a "trilogy" of plays he wrote and how its characters interact with reality and death through their senses. ^^'
@Fare_tra roughly yes. And thank you! Im also on mastadon here gougere.fr. For immersion practice. So yes i will read. :)
@eriol Thank you so much! Your words are making me feel much better. Happy to find such an open community! 🤗
