Goblin Lore

There's a variety of goblin known as a redcap who lives in ruined castles on the border between Scotland and England. They're murderous and terrible.

Because of this, other goblins are unsettled by anyone wearing a red cap.

Goblins are afraid of Santa Claus. Their version of Little Red Riding Hood is a horror story.

Goblins naturally live in forests, but some live near humans to scavenge things, the way foxes do. And also because they find humans hilarious.

Goblin Lore

Goblins are known for being mischievous, but they usually reserve that kind of thing for people who they don't like. They aren't evil or malicious though. This is anti-goblin propaganda, and they won't stand for it.

A goblin which lives in your home is technically known as a hobgoblin. This is because they like to be near the stove, because it's warm and they like the smell of garlic.

@Milouchkna I may be making this up, but I'm basing it loosely on actual folk tales. Hadn't heard about the thing with milk though!

@InvaderXan oh, nice! we could always use some more goblin stuff!

re: Goblin Lore

@Milouchkna You'd be amazed by how many "goblin-like" creatures there are in folklore – not just in Europe but around the whole world!

re: Goblin Lore

@InvaderXan for sure, there's a whole lot of similar critters! :D
