Haven't checked in here for a bit. Life is a bit crazy with the work travel schedule, buying a new house, moving, and now cleaning up the previous house. Through all that, I'm still finding time to write.

My weekly blog is up! Happy Sunday.

Sunday Blog series - The Nights of Yore - t.co/dZu4GKvCJU

The Midwestern pale grey days have arrived. If you suffer from depression or are affected by the seasons as many of my friends are, know that these days will pass as they have before.

Received a rejection response from an anthology editor today for my short story pitch. I'd already written the story (about 5k words) but it's not fun to receive that news.

Ultimately, I know I'll hear no more often than I hear yes, so the key thing for me and any writer to do is keep moving forward. I learned more about myself by writing it, so I don't consider it a loss.

Now onto Punisher and Shadowrun later.

Work week is over except for some things to clean up tomorrow. Now I eat lunch and consider what to do next with the current chapter.

I've had two cups today already, but I think a third might be in my future. On the plus side, I did luck out today and get to write and work at the same time!

I find Mastodon much calmer than Twitter. I'm sure that comes from a smaller user base, but it helps not having information shot at you like a fire hose.

Back to writing later tonight after my work day. Progress continues on the current - a near future eco sci-fi piece.

Chicago. What a town. There's equal parts inspiration and dissolution in the streets. The vibe changes block to block, with bits of language thrown in for good measure.

Today is a puzzler. I have a laundry list of objectives for work (I travel a ton) and I have to squeeze several hours of writing in before it the sun gets too low for coffee to be effective.

Question to the programs here - What keeps you most effective behind the keyboard/writing pad?

I find that waking up early is the best way for me to get a chunk of writing done before my day job starts. I lose sleep, but I hit my daily goals more often.

Greetings Programs!

I hail from the Midwest US, a writer and lover of words. I have a small stable of pieces (Historical Fiction Horror 3 novel series & a Sci-Fi novel)

By day I live in the world of technology, but I suck every free moment I can to work on my current novel in process. I have a wonderful wife and faithful hound.

Happy to talk about writing and the process of crafting dreams into words others can enjoy.
