Say what you will about Star Wars, but I love the idea of a future where some random kid with a box of scrap machine parts can just build a robot in their spare time. That’ll never be possible in our world of proprietary hardware and devices which can’t be dismantled.

^ This is really the thing we need to fight for, preventing there being a robot owning class who owns all the machines and thus all the power, we must have robo-distributism.
@XanIndigo I dunno… my neighbor’s kid was bored one day and connected my roomba to his playstation controller and made a remote controlled car. I think making your own robot is just a few steps past that. I think what we really need is more bored (well fed and cared for) kids
