Ugh Joshua and Denise's first conversation with Mae makes me so mad. They're giving her all kinds of guff for not "participating" in the panopticon and she's just letting them. I'm having a hard time with her rolling over.
No, my real problem is that Mae never once questions the things any of the Circlers are telling her, and somehow she's supposed to be the novel's protagonist. She's not *doing* anything, things are happening *to* her.
