There’s more than just Google out there. Try another engine on for size via Open Web Engine, a new tool by some friends of mine who are worried about Google’s control over the internet:

@ernie I've got feedback for your friends (sorry).
The alt text on all the logos just reads "engine icon".
As a user, I would be glad to be able to find out what service each logo points to, so I can test them easily, even if I have accessibility requirements.
