Pinned toot

It is : We write in order to but we also write down in order to forget...

1) down what matter to us, give us relief from to keep remembering. Then
we forget as we are freed from this anxiety.

2) And then we remember again as we look back what we wrote.

IF we stop on the first step, we can successfully forget what we don't want to remember...

Behold! A new custom emoji for the fediverse: :fediverse:

Now you can use it here on . Thanks for the tip, @quimgil!

Apparently is a natural deterrent (and other kinds of liver disease), more effective and healthier than any over the counter pill.

Just keep some cut fresh okra fusing in water (like lemons) and drink it every day. The β€˜slimy’ fiber is the magic ingredient, of all things.

This is not a new realization (though new to me), but actual studies have been few. But here is one...

Okra, welcome to my home.

Hi FLOSS advocates and supporters
This is probably the last call for #PeerTube crowdfunding because time is short (only 3 days left atm)

With more than 850 contributors, it has been a huge success and 1st goal has been achieved rather quickly.
Thanks for that !

Now if you believe this project may have a highest potential with more development, please pass the word and contribute, either with money or with code. Remember it is free software and of public interest πŸ™‚

Today is the day that the world ends. πŸ’€
✍️ Here's why:

1) I forgot to bring all of my everyday black pens for .

2) ALL back-up pens are gone from office at work.

3) The only pen I find is a blue pen that bleed ink a little too much than how I like to bleed on paper.

4) Wrong color, too much ink πŸ’€

I guess I have to live through the demise of bleeding blue ink for today. ✍️

@hnb

is better than nasty ol’ Markdown. And indeed easier to learn/use ;)

Plus the php version of Textile in has some nice additional abilities, like definition lists and, my favorite, endnotes.

But, you can install the wet_markdown filter and then choose to use Textile or Markdown on an article-by-article basis. Best of both worlds.

Currently setting up my .

For today, I finished "about" page. It is already written a month ago πŸ™„ So I just need to make small adjustment. ✍️

(like ) is new to me. But I'm pleased it is so simple enough to use. πŸ“

The draft of my very first post is half way down. Intend to finish in next few days πŸ€”

Now I cannot hide my excitement to start my blog 😁

If you like the idea of decentralized communication, using federated instances, you could maybe check out peertube. (Seeing as we are all about de-googleing and all)

Yesterday was spent in the woods next to a lake.
Where it's so quiet that your ears ring and you can without a problem hear the beating wings of a passing bird, the little splash when a fish breaks the surface and the susurration of the entire forest.

No social media, no internet, no problems.

Success!! Got post federation working! πŸ’₯ I figured out the HTTP Signature issue -- mostly turns out I had a bug fetching the correct keys for individual blogs.

Now I'm cleaning up code, submitting PRs for the libraries I used, and adding things I skipped, like handling unfollows.

Write-up coming soon, and with any luck, it'll be live on @write_as this week.

Aaaand finished! installed! It was straight forward but it took some time but I did it! πŸ˜‚

Setting up blog (trying Textpattern) right now!

Boy... how to set up website has changed!! It is so different from roughly 15 years ago... I was using text editor to make a website back then.... πŸ™

Forestry CMS gives you a complimentary six cookies upon first visit. For what fucking reason?

PriceMinister hits you with 26! No surprise.

Adobe, 17! Really Adobe? I don't own a single product.

It goes on and on...

The whole cookie thing is out of control. The world seems to think tracking people is an obligatory part of having a website.

That's where education needs to focus. I mean, come on, are they teaching exploitation in schools now?

β€˜Everyone is breaking the law right now’: compliance efforts are falling [way] short

digiday.com/media/everyone-bre

"Pretty much everyone is breaking the law right now," said Denmark-based media analyst Thomas Baekdal. β€œThere is not a single consent dialogue box anywhere that is easy to understand. We [publishers] have not really realized how much this is going to hit us. Everyone is trying to make things work the way they used to, rather than thinking about privacy.”

Keep being brave.

If you don't have the energy to be brave, ask someone to help you be brave <3

"You wake up every morning to fight the same demons that left you so tired the night before, and that, my love, is bravery."

Well, I used WordPress extensively in the past. I lke it. It's a good platform. It has a lot of features, ones which I never used.

Having more features doesn't necessarily make something 'better'. I chose to use @write_as because 1) I was curious about it, 2) I like its minimalism, and 3) it does what I need it to do.

That doesn't mean it's for everyone or every situation, it's the right choice for what I want to do. For me, Write.as is 'better'.

Trying out, and using as inspiration, the simplicity of @write_as site for today's #smallpoems

Found it! πŸ˜‚ πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰
This is an that I was looking for! I'm excited!

Does anyone knows an online website which you have to be (after loading the page) in order to read fiction stories? The very first of the stories was about an astronaut who driftted off to unknown planet.
I really want to continue it but I don't remember which website was. πŸ˜₯
