The novel I'm currently working on really needs some sharpening of the antagonist. It's currently more of an institutional antagonist, but I think having it personified in a character will improve the story. A sort of Jarvet type character.
I've been thinking about this for a week or two now. Maybe I should dedicate a few #writing sessions to flesh it all out.
@wickertongue Not sure it's an actual term. The context is institutional oppression, so the antagonist is "the system". In my story specifically, it's a theocratic society.
@jadzia thanks for the context, this does make sense. Sounds like a really interesting approach to an antagonist.
@jadzia am curious - whats an institutional antagonist? I also like the idea of dedicating a few writing sessions for explorative writing. Some good is sure to come of that.
