@wickertongue Not sure it's an actual term. The context is institutional oppression, so the antagonist is "the system". In my story specifically, it's a theocratic society.

The novel I'm currently working on really needs some sharpening of the antagonist. It's currently more of an institutional antagonist, but I think having it personified in a character will improve the story. A sort of Jarvet type character.

I've been thinking about this for a week or two now. Maybe I should dedicate a few sessions to flesh it all out.

@wordsmith Thanks! I put the link to the app in my bio.

Time will tell if I ever get around to finish any of my writing projects. I tend to get caught up in world and character building. 😁

Since my first name was already taken on this server, I picked the name of my favourite Star Trek character as the handle. Jadzia Dax.

Not sure how much I will be posting on this account, but I'll be lurking around in Local for a bit to see if I like it here.

Hi, I already have an account on mastodon.online, but I've seen this server and though I'd make an account here too. So this is my .

Writing is mostly a hobby for me. I work as a programmer, and I tinker on an open source app for writers in my spare time, when I'm not writing on my novel projects.

I read mostly sci-fi and fantasy, and my writing is also sci-fi. I suppose it doesn't hurt that I studied physics in university 🙂
