Hi everyone, I've just joined the instance. I'm Jane, and I'm looking forward to talking about writing and also reading your stories. There's some flash fiction on my blog, if you'd like to take a look. https://mastodon.social/@WritingPrompts/ gives me ideas, most of them weird. 😂 That's enough for now. *waves*
@jane welcome. I am a relative newcomer as well but have long been a writer in all sorts of genre. I look forward to looking at your link.
@gg Thank you. You have a beautiful website.
@jane I so appreciate your feedback. I worked on it a long time. I am afraid that so many projects have taken me from caring for it, that is providing it new work. My only contribution has been a recent short story (a character from a much larger piece I am wrestling with) which you can read here if you'd like (always like feedback 😉 ) https://geoffreygevalt.com/fiction/pinkham-december-24-1947 #writing #writingexchange
@gg Good story! It has a strong sense of time and place, and the dialogue was genuine and believable. Looking forward to the larger work and reading more about these characters, especially the odd stranger whom I suspect isn't actually very nice. (JMO, of course. I could be wrong. Am I wrong?) #GoodWork 🙂
@jane oh my gosh. thank you. I couldn't be more surprised.A #smallstories behind the #writing - I've been working on various characters for several months; I've deleted about 25,000 words. I liked the start of that one and needed to move it along, get the character moving; as he set upon his mission, and got himself into the jam, The Stranger literally came out of nowhere. I went with it. He has become a key to the big story. He is benevolent, but his purpose is to help others see something.
@jane I read one of your posts and have left you a long meandering comment produced by your own thoughts and word. Peace and good night.
@wordsmith Sounds right up my alley. I'll check it out. 😀
