Eight months ago I left my job to work on @write_as full-time. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but it's meant that ever since, I get to wake up every day and do work that I truly love.
If you'd like to support what I'm doing, including fediverse projects like @read_as and our Writing.Exchange instance, here are a few ways you can help:
And I've just sent out my first Patrons-only post on Patreon! This one talks about a potential name for the open source version of #writeas, and progress on that so far.
Going forward, I'll post more behind the scenes, development-oriented things for $5+ patrons over there.
@matt Hey matt, just wanted to give you a word of support. You've taken a challenging road, but you're doing a really cool thing. A lot of really cool things, actually. Hope you keep it up and do well with something you really enjoy. Thanks a lot.
@lowbrow thanks :) sometimes it can feel like I'm just doing something crazy hah. But hearing support like this helps!
@matt I never said it wasn't at least a little crazy :D But hey, the best things often start out exactly that way.
I will never not cheer for anyone who decides to start a business, especially when it's an awesome one based in something that they love.
I'm a big fan of the write.as principles page, too. 👍
@mattbk Thanks! Didn't know to do that before.
