My trick for preempting jetlag before heading across the Atlantic: wake up an hour earlier than usual each day, starting a few days ahead of the flight. Tomorrow I'll be at 3am, and hopefully falling asleep as soon as the plane takes off in the evening.

@matt I just use melatonin (which you can buy over-the-counter in the US, unlike in the UK). Works almost too well! 🙃

@dajbelshaw Hah! Maybe that's what I should try for getting back on US time (still haven't figured that one out yet).

@matt It's really effective, and I use it both directions when I travel 👍

@matt That's way better than my technique of just not going to bed the night before the flight and so my body drops from exhaustion the moment I let it.
