In case you missed it, a-hem. This finally went online.
My feed seems to be broken, though, or at least my reader won't pick it up.
Can someone check one of these and see if one or the other works:
Opened a long-running notebook for the first time in a while last night...
Whereas the first year I wrote in it (2010) had 50+ pages written, last year I wrote 3 sentences.
So I sat for a few minutes and wrote until I ended up in a new place. I felt the ink on the paper, basked in the varying scribbles I made, poured out some honest words, and made some discoveries that instantly lifted my mood. Just *writing* did that. I don't do it nearly enough.
I'm a programmer and designer but I've got dreams of being a writer. Last year I decided to take my hobby a little more seriously and start learning.
In addition to the work I'm doing for a writing class, I have two novels in draft state, one of which I hope to have fully revised and publishable by the end of the year.
Some of my short works are here: https://mishafrankenstein.tumblr.com
As far as interests, I like spooky/Halloween type stuff and I listen to a lot of metal.
Hi, I'm new to this instance. I'm 26/F, and interested in writing; particularly poetry and prose.
This is mostly just something for me. I've realized more and more lately that I have a lot of stuff to express, but I don't have much of an outlet.
Thanks for listening to my #introduction!
That’s what we call a lock-in, a monopoly over our lives. Cutting from them even if we don’t pay them anything willfully has a price we pay in time, effort and money.
They catch us in their webs and never let go.
Whereas I try to keep this account low-volume and limited to the important stuff, the dev account often contains what we're working on at any given moment, as well as new issues, small fixes, and our future plans.
Even if you're not a developer but instead run a WriteFreely instance — or just publish on one — there's relevant information for you there.
Yesterday was the last post in the current #AlternativesAtoZ series.

Neat, #WritingExchange was mentioned as an instance worth checking out in this article:
I will be starting the upgrade to Mastodon v2.7.3 for all instances hosted on Masto.host
The downtime should be less than 30 seconds.
You can read the changelog here: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/releases/tag/v2.7.3
I'm an Anglo-American university biology & chemistry instructor, and lab manager.
My main interests are cycling & exercise physiology (researching, reviewing, training, racing), reading (science, philosophy, fiction) and writing (mainly about cycling, but also more broadly).
My website (https://ianbgibson.com) has much more.
Unsurprisingly, I'm here to discuss all aspects of writing.
You can follow @florence to always receive updates!

Holding It All Together As A Writer — by bleak and pretty
Rediscovered this talk today, and just realized how much it ended up influencing me and what I've been doing over the past several years.

Hi writing.exchange! This will be the writing musing account of @maloki
I'll be writing about writing, and musing about poetry, as I'm crash coursing into it.
Most posts will be private! And the account is private.

Really enjoyed #FOSDEM and getting to chat with everyone in person this weekend! Now it's time to sleep a lot.
