Crap forgot to tag my last two writing prompts

Your captain turns to you, as the battery meter flickers and dies. Already the air is cold, and will only get colder.

“Well,” she says, “we had a good run.”

You think for a minute, then ask, “Did we, though?”

“Oh cock.”

First I had three hearts, and then I found more in the game.

I felt healthier. A scar on my arm healed. It had been there for years.

I equipped better armor, and my clothes changed, the caliber of them improving just a bit, from rayon to cotton to a softer silk.

So I went to the dwarves, and I paid off my debts.

You set your tea down on the table, a finger between the pages of your book. The candle flickers, gently illuminating the pages of the text in front of you. You look around the room. Vines have begun to creep in, their tendrils sneaking along the window frames. It won't be long now.

You smile. "Quiet's nice."

Exasperated, you sigh. "This is gonna be like that time a cat tried to sell me drugs, isn't it." You roll out of bed, groggy, and make sure you put on your knee guards.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this 500 character flash fiction is better than the entire piece I'm trying to write for a magazine but whatever. Hashtag world's tiniest violin.

She sat down to brush Mercy's hair, something she hadn't done in a long time. The locks were soft and smooth; she had always enjoyed this, and she missed the days when it was part of their routine. There was something soothing about playing with Mercy's hair, even just to do a braid or twist, but even then, her arms had gotten tired. This made it so much easier, having her sister's head in her lap, even if the blood stained her dress a little. #writing #writingprompt #promptober
