Do whatever you can to tell the author that you liked their book, if you indeed did. For those of us who aren't ever going to make a living at this, good reviews are the best thing we can reasonably expect to happen when it comes to our writing. I had a coworker tell me today she read Girl on the Moon and was "enthralled" and she's on book 2 now. It really made my day. #writing #WritingCommunity
@scifijack i need sales and reviews and all the things tbh i feel this
@scifijack Well said, Jack!
Reviews help inspire our desire to write the next book.
@scifijack ditto with puzzle books. For the few books that are actually hand-written instead of generated, there's a ton of effort that goes into creating puzzles and it's nice to hear when something clever or interesting was well-received.
@scifijack YES! Not just authors but artists, musicians, podcasters, ANY creatives whose work you appreciate.
For those of you who don't put things out into the world, you have no idea how GOOD it feels when someone shows their appreciation for that thing you worked on. Especially for those who do "small" projects, just one kind word means the world to them.
Trust me, I know. I was a podcaster before it was cool (hell, before it was even a word) and someone liking my efforts meant a lot.
@scifijack hi there! I was scrolling my feed and came across this post. I wanted to know if there were any servers or communities that were very similar to this. One of my passions is creative writing, and I love finding like-minded people!

So I looked at your profile, and I was like, Oh let's check out his books on his website, then saw the cover of Girl on the Moon and I was like, Oh lemme see the description, and it took me to Amazon, where I found out that I ALREADY OWNED THIS BOOK ON KINDLE!
Moving it to my January TBR!
