It seems the idea of #nihilism in #emailsecurity applies to #surveillancecapitalism too. I know many who work in digital (content, design, dev, etc), supposedly savvy people, who have adopted the attitude of ‘we already use [platforms xyz] so it makes no difference now, & nothing to hide.’
They reply to false security but ignore the surveillance; don’t seem to care being exploited by tech giants, as if there’s nothing to be done about it. The nihilism.
But there’s much we/they can do.
