Besides wanting a simple online space to write, I started building Write.as to have a place where I could write privately.

In a web of ubiquitous tracking and surveillance capitalism, we need more user-friendly tools that come with privacy and user freedom by default — and I'm happy to build a model for this with a platform being used by more people every day.
