Ghostwriter is a minimal and distraction free editor for Linux and Windows (there's a macOS beta too).

I put it on full screen with dark theme and focus mode on. When I want to go gung-ho I also enable Hemingway mode which disables the backspace key.

writefreely.org/ is a federated blogging application. You can self host it or use any of the instances. @write_as has paid service and also some great human beings. Really good work. You can even follow the posts from your mastodon account.

You might've noticed slower-loading pages on Write.as recently, coming from our Matomo (analytics) server.

We've seen a ton of new people writing great stories and sharing them widely — which is great! But it was a bit more traffic than our servers could handle.

So we've just upgraded everything to handle current traffic loads and give us plenty of room for the next million-plus monthly visitors.

Keep on writing and sharing your stories! And let us know if you still notice any slowness.
