Now you can include external links and general Markdown in your post titles, like this:

# [A Place to Write](write.as)

...great for when you want to write Daring Fireball-style posts where you reference an article in the title.

Now you can delete Snap.as photos, and it'll let you know if doing so will mess up any of your Write.as posts πŸ‘ writing.exchange/media/uNhNn_K

Some pricing changes coming next week β€” specifically, the price for an annual Pro subscription is dropping to $40

Slight improvement to post titles and slugs tonight: no more image URLs showing up in slugs, and we now fall back to a photo's alt text if necessary.

If you were encountering issues editing post metadata in Safari and other non-Chrome or -Firefox browsers before, those issues are no more! ✨

Would you rather compose your posts in Vim? Now you can publish straight to Write.as with this awesome Vim plugin from @International ⌨ github.com/Internationa1/write

Certain elements of blogs are now localized in Japanese!

I did this a little while ago, and even when I stopped promoting it letters still came in. So between that and having some time again, I invite anyone interested to request some free stickers!

Just send a self-addressed, stamped envelope over to Florida and I'll send a couple Write.as stickers back!

Looks like Mastodon cross-posting is working πŸ˜€ Now to clean the code up a bit and test some more.

We're starting to localize all blogs and show common elements in the language you're writing in. Today, you'll see dates in the correct format πŸ“…

Something not look right? Simply edit a post's metadata and fix its language to get the right format. writing.exchange/media/-fvvOPq

As some may know, our long-term goal for Write.as is to open source everything so you can host a blog (or blogs) yourself. It's still a ways off, but we outlined some of our goals on the future GitHub repository.

Next up: cross-posting to Mastodon!

This has been a big one on my personal list, and we've started hearing requests for it from more people lately. Since the Masto API seems pretty stable now, I figure it's a good time to finish it all up.

Initially we'll only support Writing.Exchange, to make sure it works well; then after some real-world testing we'll support any instance.

Social media has been great for keeping everyone abreast of our updates and improvements, but those toots can sometimes get lost in the stream.

So here's our official mailing list for Write.as updates β€” a monthly (or so) newsletter. :page:

Now tags should work no matter what language / script you're writing in πŸ‘

Tonight we sent out a few tiny fixes on the web, including for post titles and sitemaps, and spent some time setting up an internal environment to fully test future features.

Now that there are no pressing issues, we're back to the fun stuff: Snap.as.
