I hope we're all clear on the fact that #ChatGPT could not copy Ghibli's style without illegally training its #LLM with #Ghibli animation. But nobody gives a shit. Users don't give a shit, politicians don't give a shit, and Sam #Altman certainly doesn't give a shit. Even publishers don't seem to give a shit as long as they (not the authors/artists) get a piece of the pie. I hope Ghibli sues them into bankruptcy. (Not that many judges are likely to give a shit.)

404 MediaMiyazaki Probably Hates ThisThe internet is flooded with AI-generated images in the style of Studio Ghibli, whose founder said “I would never wish to incorporate this technology into my work at all.”

Supervisor: You wrote"ChatGPT launched on 30th November 2023, and for the following year there was only one AI Tool (Sam Altman)" but you've not put the date of the citation and he's not in your references?

Me: I wasn't citing him. Read it again.

First, I thought that I couldn't write fiction anymore because #reality gets crazy. Sometimes, I invent #SciFi plots just for fun, without writing. But now reality gets even weirder. I think that's the plan: We don't believe them. So, they install their #dystopic #apocalypse system while we still laugh about that insanity: wired.com/story/startup-nation (it's also archived).

“Microsoft is the primary backer of OpenAI, whose CEO Sam Altman has long stoked nebulous fears about AI taking over the world. Critics often say Altman’s fear mongering is primarily intended to place himself at the centers of power…”

”GPT 4.5 appears to be the system that was supposed to be GPT-5, relabeled in order to manage expectations downwards. And even so, with the less ambitious label, people were still disappointed. And of course, there is still no GPT-5, even after two years, of hype, bullshit, and cryptic hints. GPT 4.5, vibes and all, are the best Altman’s got. He was bluffing the whole time.”

Marcus on AI · OpenAI, in deep troubleBy Gary Marcus

#SamAltman: #OpenAI has been on the 'wrong side of history' concerning #opensource
#Altman admitted #DeepSeek lessened OpenAI’s lead in #AI, and he believes OpenAI has been “on the wrong side of history” when it comes to open source. While OpenAI has open sourced models in past, company has favored a proprietary, closed source approach.
Kevin Weil, OpenAI’s chief product officer, said OpenAI is considering open sourcing older models that aren’t state-of-the-art anymore.

🔴 Musk’s $94.7B Bid for OpenAI Rejected by Altman

🪧 Musk attempts to reclaim OpenAI, citing its “lost” mission—Altman mocks him, offering to buy Twitter instead.

🪧 The two have feuded since Musk left OpenAI in 2018, later suing Altman in 2024.

🪧 A takeover could shake OpenAI’s role in the $500B Stargate AI project.

Sam Altman rejette la proposition de rachat d'Open AI lancée par Musk (pour 100 millards de dollars!) avec des mots peu aimables pour son confrère milliardaire: "Il passe sa vie en insécurité.
