"In this emerging #AIera, the very ideas of community and human connection are poised for redefinition.

#Smaller, purpose-driven #communities are the future. The desire for smaller, more intimate communities is undeniable. People are abandoning massive platforms in favor of tight-knit groups where trust and shared values flourish and content is at the core. The future of community building is in going back to the #basics."

A colleague asked me for a general purpose introductory text to #OpenBSD other than the FAQ at openbsd.org/faq/index.html.

I pointed to my on "What every IT person needs to know about OpenBSD" - the three part blog.apnic.net version starting with blog.apnic.net/2021/10/28/open as the better version than the full nxdomain.no/~peter/what_every_, but I would also like to hear about other web-accessible ones.

Followups welcome!

Regarding the visual effects of #Macrocosm:

This episode was a giant leap forward for the Voyager effects crew. This was the first Voyager episode to extensively use a CGI based alien. This was a follow up to their first CGI based alien - the "land eel" in the #Basics two-parter. The visual effects crew were not pleased with the final product but the producers loved it. The technology would return in the #Scorpion two-parter. (Memory Alpha)

I really liked what they did with #LonSuder in this episode. With #TheDoctor offline he becomes the last surviving #StarFleet crewman on board Voyager, ironically finally freed and allowed to contribute.

As he once again engages in murder, fighting a guerilla war to retake the ship, he struggles to preserve what peace he was able to gain from #Tuvok's #Meld.

Only in death does he finally seem to get it.
