Nisaa (she/her)<p>This is the completed embroidered cyanotype of "The Litany of Peace" from the book "Where Peace is Lost" by <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://wandering.shop/@valerievaldes" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>valerievaldes</span></a></span> </p><p>I've decided to embroider quotes from science fiction and fantasy that give me hope. As soon as I read The Litany of Peace I knew it was the first thing I wanted to embroider for this project. <br>The cyanotype flower in the first part reminded me of the main character Kel's wings and her shield. The cyanotype in the second reminded me of an olive branch and peace (although it's actually a podocarpus branch from our backyard).</p><p>Science fiction and fantasy books help us imagine worlds the way we want them to be. It can have a cost, generally under $20 per month. If you like the idea but not the cost, TinyCat is built on LibraryThing. Now, can TinyCat do the loaning part... I don't know.</p><p>My first thought was actually LibraryThing (which is free) and some quick looking into that brought up TinyCat as an option. a pair of glumes<p>Is there an app/site/network that facilitates lending books from one's personal library? Or formal libraries that act as the 'front end' of such a system - sort of like an interlibrary loan system that includes personal libraries of local residents?
