Hey there fellow #Linux gamers. After reading about how #Fedora is treating OBS, and the resulting legal threat that OBS was forced to issue, I'm considering moving to another distro.

As much as I like #Nobara I moved to Linux specifically to get away from arrogant, self-important corporations.

I've considered #CachyOS or something else but I require the use of fractional scaling (one 1080p display, one 4K).

Are any non-Fedora distros as plug'n'play as Nobara?

This week's Linux and FOSS news:

LINUX NEWS

(After FosseryWeb sidebar, get ready to have a sidebar in Text Editor too lol)

GTK 5 drops X11 support, introduces Android backend for the toolkit:

(Meanwhile on Wayland, many video chat services don't support screen sharing, video recording is still problematic (at least on Debian), but no problem, just drop X11 and ignore the mentioned use cases...)

Installing CachyOS on my Surface Pro 3 with Openbox, Cosmic and Budgie. I'm doing this on battery because I don't want to deal with the mess of cables under my desk right now.

What could possibly go wrong? 🥴
