Raccoon 🏳️🌈 :unverified:<p>For anyone wondering, that word I keep using when I talk about my <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/Fantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Fantasy</span></a> setting, "<a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/Dwerg" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dwerg</span></a>", is the Norse word which Tolkien repurposed as "Dwarf" when he was writing about the <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/Dwarves" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dwarves</span></a>. I feel like it's good to shift away from a word which is associated in more modern contexts with "dwarfism". I'm not writing about people with dwarfism, I'm writing about dwergs, a fictional sub-species of humans.</p>
