Lewisia cotyledon, a variety called Elise. A large cluster of rosette-like flowers with nine or ten petals each. There is a mix of flowers with either hot pink with pale pink borders or orange with yellow borders. They all have delicate yellow stamens spreading out like a crown. The flowers are about 1.5 cm in diameter. There are also a few small, pointed buds. The sun is shining on them so they look very bright and cheerful.

Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan' or 'Kwanzan' (I don't know which one is correct ... perhaps you do?). A closeup on several open blossoms and a couple of buds. The open blossoms are very double, each petal ovate with maybe a little dentation and warm candy pink, with a prominent green pistil and pale yellow cluster of stamens. The sun is bright and is shining through some of the petals.

I almost forgot my raspberry! It got a nice drink of water it desperately needed. The snow that melted into the pot kept it going for some time but I should had caught it sooner as some of its new leaves have started to wilt.
But it is one stubborn thing! I bought it as a sad little seedling and it barely made through a few years. Then when it had sprouted only a few branches it started to flower and make berries. We had maybe three years of 8-12 berries. Last year I gave it a change of soil and some fertilizing sticks and it not only grew new branches but huuuuge leaves! Berry count went up to 20-25.
I pulled the branches more together with my makeshift setup of a stick from a cat toy and a shoelace hey, it worked last year!
A willow had also sprouted into the pot, I had to pull it out.

A little late planting veg seeds this year, especially since cold weather probably comes earlier in our new place, shortening the growing season for us. But I will not be discourage as we have corn.

Me podría pasar horas viendo los gorriones venir a comer y beber, con esta luz de primavera y con el trocito de patio con flores y verde.
Hace un par de años pensé que pasaba en esta ventana mucho tiempo y que tenía que poner muy bonito el exterior por mi propio placer. Pocas decisiones mejores que esa.
