The door locks.
The engine springs to life.

The road opens.
Houses rush by.
"The day is mine!"

At the crossing
only the
uncertain road
is green-lighted.

They have closed the dramas and comedies of the ancient Greeks like the huge portal doors of a wonderful city in the desert in front of me and my classmates with a #bang! Too complicated and too difficult for us stupid little workers' children. What would we bring with us that would a) enable us and b) would make us believe that we could find our place in this wonderful urban landscape and participate in life there?

A bunch of thoughts at a coffeetable are irritated by a nervous thought.

"She's always like this, when the going gets tough."

"It is her cowardice."

"How do you know the thought is a she? Male thoughts never get nervous? Pah."
