Ya know, today is a fine day to boost the #LBJ Presidential Library, in #Austin. No reason, really.

It’s so far the only presidential library I’ve ever been to. I know that the whole purpose of these things is to lionize the guy. And I 100% fell for it.

#NASA's requested funding was spent on Great Society, including building rapid transit system in several cities. Funding allocated elsewhere than NASA transformed American society in other ways. NASA intended for #astronauts to live on moon for two weeks. For comparison, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin spent 21hr on the Moon during Apollo 11, costs ultimately derailed the lunar base.Johnson administration had other spending concerns.

On this day, in 1973, students in #Greece took to the streets to demonstrate against a #US backed military junta that had grabbed power 6 years earlier ( #POTUS #LBJ ), by overthrowing a centrist government with the help of the king. It ended in bloodshed. Less than 10 months later, the country had abolished the monarchy and returned to #democracy. The junta were convicted for high treason, and sentenced to death.

If you too have a problem with fascism, that's how it's solved. YMMV.
