It is near the edge of “The Lake” in a popular area of the park, and in warm weather it is common to see lots of people pausing on the bridge to enjoy the view and take pictures. On March 10 protesters flooded #Manhattan to demand the release of #MahmoudKhalil, a Palestinian student and activist detained by ICE after protesting #Israel’s actions in #Gaza.

Khalil, a Columbia University grad, was targeted for his #activism, accused of anti-Semitic and pro-terrorist activity. Despite having permanent residence, he faces deportation under a vague law.
