These Martins are common close to watercourses in the outback. We get large flocks visiting <a href="https://c.im/tags/Florida" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Florida</a> in the colder months. I once was "embedded" in a large murmuration in the <a href="https://c.im/tags/Everglades" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Everglades</a> and it looked like it had started raining. Then we realized it was the birds pooping on us. Not to worry... they were just little pellets of insect exoskeleton (not the more familiar white bird "poop" which is actually the equivalent of urine for birds).One evening I saw a bunch flying low over the reeds in our lake feeding on midges. I went out and captured this video. I also experimented with in-camera and post-processing slow motion. No music, so if you bump up the volume you can hear their little chips and then the same slowed down. Stu BaconThere wasn’t much to see out on the fen that day, something small over at the mere and a heron a long way off. After we made our way around the sedge fen there were more signs of life back at the visitor centre.Swallows were ducking and diving in and out of the little boat house near the entrance.
