Aw man, the Vertex trial has been halted. Really curious as to the post-mortem findings on why the encapsulation didn't work as hoped.

I have started a new weekly newsletter that will be a bibliography of new research articles on the use of CGM data to improve outcomes for diabetics. The bibliography is compiled by a machine learning program developed by Thomas Kirchel, to which I provide manual abstract relevance feedback. You can subscribe to the newsletter free by signing up for the newsletter "bims-glumda CGM data in management of diabetes" at:

Have you any experience with #fiasp, particularly as used in an #insulin pump? How does it compare to #humalog or #novolog?
I take #novolog via my #tandem #tslim, but I’m finding it increasingly difficult to control my BG as my #gastroparesis grows more erratic over time. I’m wondering if a faster-acting insulin might help, allowing me to NOT bolus until I see a BG rise when my stupid stomach decides to start digesting (sometimes immediately, sometimes 4 hours later).
Looks like I just have to bolus for breakfast and then not eat breakfast and my BG will be fine
This is without breakfast, just straight #cortisol.
Dear #Tandem, could you please implement an easier way to trigger a different basal rate in the morning? Not all of us are robots and get up at the same time every morning, so the strictly-schedule-based basal rates are not as comprehensive as they could be.
9 goddamn grams of carbs & increased my basal rate 50%. WTF. I’m about to just mainline an entire vial of Novolog I’m so tired of this bullshit.
Note: I am being hyperbolic. There is no concern for self-harm.
My current routine is not working & my BG has been awful. Large spike in the AM when I eat literally anything (cortisol yay!), sustained high until the evening then a multi-hour descent to hypo when my #gastroparesis kicks in, followed by a rebound as I #EatTheKitchen.
So I’m switching things up. Quick small breakfast, hop on the bike to fight spike, then cold brew as a treat. Hopefully addressing the early high will tamp down the later variance.
Excited about the re-release of the Pebble Watches. I've been close to buying a used Pebble several times as a way of giving my #T1D son a way to view his Glucose numbers on his wrist, without having all the other notifications, apps, and expense that comes with an Apple or Android watch.

I wish I knew an accurate way of describing how a crash like this actually feels.
