@skoombidoombis It’s so good! I watched ‘Murder, My Sweet’ for the first time on #TCM a couple months ago, and didn’t have high hopes for Dick Powell—but I loved it, and thought he absolutely gave Bogart a run for his money. Enjoy!

So excited for tonight’s film. 1944’s Murder My Sweet starring Dick Powell as Philip Marlowe. I don’t think i have seen this. Powell can get gritty. Robert Mitchum’s Marlowe is my favorite. Bogart is good but the chemistry between him and bacall is what makes the big sleep 1946. Eliot Gould is my least favorite Marlowe—never got his appeal (aside from MASH 1970 but that’s Sutherland chemistry there )

I check to see what’s next on #tcm tonight. Lost Horizon 1937 in 20 minutes.

I surf the guide and click over to The Cooler 2003. The movie is about 50 minutes in. The scene is the reveal of the new casino and Alec Baldwin launches into a monologue about this exact film….lost horizon and Shanghai-La

I remembered why I don’t recall much of the film, melodrama. but it gives insight into how USAians were changing/coping 2 years into ww2…of course it’s worth it just see Bette Davis deliver the line “Mama, we’re anti-Fascists.”

Naja welch Insekten die mögen weiss ich nicht so genau, aber ich weiss, dass sie Früchte macht, weil wir sie als Arznei Namens Lian Qiao verwenden - zum Beispiel in Rezepturen gegen #Halsschmerzen, #allergische #Dermatitis, #Akne oder #Abszesse.

Kidder Cat doesn’t seem very interested in “Lured” from 1947 starring George Sanders, Lucille Ball and Charles Coburn, the current offering on Turner Classic Movies. He’s a tough customer but I’m sure I’ll find something more to his liking.
