How's everyone doing one week into the #Target #boycott? From my household to yours, some ideas if you're looking to boycott beyond Lent/permanently:

1. I looked at my account to do some analysis of last year's purchases. Now I know how to divest 95%+ of my past Target purchases going forward :)

2. Theirs is the most useless rewards program so it will be trivial to kill my account and take better shopping privacy measures. Boycotts can also encompass user data :)

- Try to boycott #Google, there are other search engines. #SergeyBrin, co-founder of #Alphabet, which owns Google, #Gmail, #Android, and #YouTube. #DuckDuckGo, for example, has been recommended by a supporter.
- Boycott #Apple Products! #TimCook, CEO and major shareholder of Apple, donated to Trump’s inauguration and is reported to have developed a "personal relationship" with Trump.
- Don’t shop at #Walmart! Walmart, owned by the ultra-rich #Walton family, pays its employees so poorly that many of them are on food stamps.
- Don’t shop at #Target! Target, which has stopped selling #LGBTQ merchandise due to right wing pressure."

It should not be as hard as it apparently is to buy a Pizza Hut personal pan cheese pizza in #BostonMA. Is there a Pizza Hut or Pizza Hut "Express" anywhere in the city or its environs which reliably has one when you show up to buy it? If there is, I haven't yet managed to find it.
Today at the #Target in #WatertownMA they had none, and the majority of the few items they had out for sale were mislabeled. Real amateur hour vibe.

#HX-2 #AI-guided strike #drone set to #target #Russian #forces in #Ukraine

The new HX-2 strike drone could soon hurt Russian forces in Ukraine.

Using artificial intelligence, these new German-made weapon systems can strike targets 62 miles away.

More than 6,000 of these one-way uncrewed drones are about to be gifted to Ukraine and will be used against Russian artillery, armour and other military targets.

Penzeys Spices sends an open letter to #Target:

"I feel for you. You want to find a spot to be where everyone is happy with you. But that spot no longer exists. Now no one is happy with you. You have what seem like very hard decisions to make...

I also know the decisions you need to make are not hard at all because you really only have one path forward. The Trump-voting, anti-#DEI crowd will never be your customers. They’ve never trusted you."

Reminder (or new info for folks that haven't heard about this yet): we are currently in a complete economic blackout of #Target and #Amazon.

I realize it isn't possible to fully blackout Amazon, since a large number of the services and servers we all use on a daily basis run on their services, but we can at least forego buying any products or services directly from them.

The Amazon boycott goes until March 14, and the Target boycott goes until Easter.

A tariff is an import tax. Folks who go to #Walmart should know that. (On the other hand they believed #Target and Walmart owed them a magic factory popping out #eggs at $1.19 a dozen; loss leader was not a concept they got and were pissed when it went away because of dead birds).

It is 22.7% of the population who voted for Trump who seem to believe whatever he says.

This is the moment when they step on the rake tfg left tines up for them.

@stefan Oh cool! I didn't know about this but I was kind of doing it anyway. In the past, any time I might otherwise have shopped at Walmart or Amazon or other large chains, I'd make a point to buy from Target because of their anti-discrimination stance. Now that incentive is gone, so no more Target for me. I'm buying all that stuff from a local grocery store instead, or occasionally Costco.
