Parker: The Solar System from Near the Sun

NASA's Parker Solar Probe captured a time-lapse from inside #Mercury's orbit, showing coronal streamers, a Coronal Mass Ejection, and #planets like Mercury and #Venus. Between #Earth and #Mars, #Comet Tempel 1 appears. The video also shows high-energy solar particles. This data helps us understand space weather impacts on Earth.

🪷 This week love and money are in the air when retrograde #Mercury and retrograde #Venus align with dreamy #Neptune in intuitive Pisces for the last time for generations to come ... because Neptune leaves #Pisces this weekend and won't return for 165 years! On the positive side: you can trust your intuition to buy a lottery ticket. But on the negative side, you don't know when to stop and squander your hard-earned money on a bad bet ... in money and love. antinousstars.blogspot.com/202 🪷

Venus and the Triply Ultraviolet Sun

This was a very unusual type of solar eclipse. Typically, it is the Earth's Moon that eclipses the Sun. In 2012, though, the planet Venus took a turn. Like a solar eclipse by the Moon, the phase of Venus became a continually thinner crescent as Venus became increasingly better aligned with the Sun. Eventually the alignment became perfect and the phase of Venus dropped to zero.

The planet #Venus as a crescent over the horizon at dawn and at dusk ON THE SAME DAY, namely today, 20 March 2025: imaged from Bochum, Germany, when the vertical distance between Venus and the Sun was ~7° at both times. Images at 5:58 CET and 19:17 CET, with the Sun 6 1/4° and 6° below and Venus 3/4° and 1 1/2° above the horizon, resp. See facebook.com/dan.fischer.393/p for image sequences from morning and evening over 15 and 20 minutes - Venus was never seen with the naked eye but easy in binoculars.

Have a beautiful Day of Aphrodite aka Venus' Day aka Frigg's Day aka Friday 🌹

"I will sing of stately #Aphrodite, gold-crowned and beautiful, whose dominion is the walled cities of all sea-set Kypros. There the moist breath of Zephyros the westwind wafted her over the waves of the loud-moaning sea."

Yesss! I found #Venus 10 hours and 51 minutes apart in the evening *and* then morning sky over Bochum, Germany: the left picture was taken at 19:28 CET on 18 March (Sun 8° below, Venus 2° above horizon, vertical separation 10°), the right one at 6:19 CET on 19 March (a bit shorter focal length; Sun 3 1/2° below, Venus 3 1/4° above horizon, vertical separation 6 1/2°). On 20 March the situation will be pretty balanced: the vertical separation both in the morning will be about 7 degrees.
