I worked with #AmbiVerb a bit and ran into lots of undocumented stuff, also, the size options in the helpfiles aren't what's in the actual data directory, which I had to find out through a lot of digging and unintelligible error messages.
I'll continue working on that tomorrow... now I need a break from trying to code.

You can compose spatial images from mono or stereo soures, encode that to binaural, multiband sidechain compress audio based on directionality of sound...
And as another Mastodon user has shown - you can work with 7th order ambisonics in Ardour using these plug-ins :)
