#BG3

I'm doing a #BG3 solo run, and this time I try to do it properly, without a wildshaped druid hireling as non-stop company. I do have all the origin characters in the camp though, and I do my morning yoga to get Longstrider, Aid etc.

My Tav is a Halfling Paladin with Oath of the Ancients. I managed to do the goblin camp quest while still on LV4, oath intact, all three bosses dead. Okay, so there were a few reloads and I play on Balanced, but still.

I still haven't decided how to do the encounters that are tightly tied to origin characters' personal quests. I did take Karlach to meet Dammon, but I left her at the camp when I went to face Anders.

Oh, and I am apparently FINALLY managing to romance Wyll! I figured My Little Paladin would be a good match for him, and it makes sense for her to be into Wyll, because they are both so heroic and good. But I gotta say, it was a bit underwhelming to get a hug from Wyll when he didn't take the time to kneel in order to do it. Look hard at pic below and you might catch even the tiniest glimpse of her 😂

Time for a #BG3 update:
- Cumulative playtime: 2112 hours
- Completed playthroughs: 10
- Active campaigns: 5 (but I might start yet another campaign today)
- Achievements: 47/54

#BG3DrizztDoUrdenRun was my attempt on a semi-solo playthrough, on Balanced, and it took me 114 hours, once again breaking my old record on fastest playthrough.

In Acts 1 and 2 it was a lot easier to not have anyone else in the party besides Guenhwyvar (a hireling Druid who was in panther wildshape whenever possible), but in Act 3 I ended up having other companions in the party, because there are many quests that are personal quests for origin characters, or fights with so many enemies that going solo felt like a suicide mission. But I did go to the endgame with only Guenhwyvar in the party.

If there's one thing I wish the game had, that's a Legendary scimitar. I kept true to Drizzt's weapon of choice and had him wield double scimitars pretty much the whole time. Of course Belm is a good choice, but I kept switching the secondary weapon because there wasn't a clear choice for that.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that you do get the post-battle romance scene with Halsin even if he's not in your final party. I think there was some older playthrough where I didn't get that scene and Halsin wasn't in the final party, so I assumed it was because of that.

If anyone's interested in my Drizzt build, leave a comment and I'll gladly share.

#BG3 thought - every time I do an Origins playthrough, I wish there was a way to simulate having a Tav: just this one good-hearted, chaotic NPC who (based on my play style) would wrestle God to protect a street urchin, but loots everything everything that isn't nailed down (and some things that are.)

#BG3 life hack: if the only character who can cast Aid is a Paladin, you can upcast it only as a LV3 spell so that you get a +10 to the hitpoint maximum. But if you make the Paladin drink a Supreme Elixir of Arcane Cultivation, they get a LV4 spell slot, even when they don't naturally have that, and you can then use that to upcast Aid as LV4 and get +15 to the hitpoint maximum. After you've done this, the Paladin can drink some other elixir if you need them on the field.

Of course if you have a Cleric in your party, they can upcast Aid as LV6 spell. But sometimes you just don't have a Cleric 😅

Let's take this from the top, one last time.

I'm Diotima (obv not my real name) and I'm:

- A tiefling (horns and a tail, yes)
- Kind of obsessed with #BaldursGate3
- Writer of stuffs, SFW and NSFW.

I'm silly & weird. But my soul is also full of broken glass and rusted metal. Consider that like, fair warning.

Likes: #BG3, #ttrpgs, #adventure, #spicy things, and #travel.

Dislikes: Reply guys, fashies, and other icky things.

So there. That's it. That's the #introduction.

I'm giving Baldur's Gate 3 another shot, and so far I don't hate it.

DESPITE the fact that Lae'zel's scar is on the wrong side on the loading screen.
I mean, what the hell kind of sloppy operation are they running?

(also, multiplayer setup is hella buggy. C'mon, they've had 2 years to make this game not be so rough around the edges!)

But I'm kind of having fun this time around... at least for now. We'll see if I make it further than my first try 😅
