I saw this buzzard on my walk with the dogs around the reservoirs this afternoon. I moved slightly to get a better angle, and he buggered off.

The area around #Leudelange where I run is characterized by forests, bushes, and cultivated landscapes. Only extensive agriculture. #Luxembourg is doing a lot of things right here. Especially now in spring, you see birds of prey on almost every run. Today, a #redKite flew close over me. Majestic! Then there was a #buzzard, which was chased away by a #crow. Pretty brave, considering it was a bit smaller.

The Freewheelin' Bob Buzzard

A few turkey vultures have been back in SW Iowa for a couple of weeks, but now it seems they are back in numbers.

A large dark bird soars beneath blue sky and wispy clouds. The back portion of the wings is noticeably lighter than then body of the bird. The wing tips appear to be translucent.

Spotted this Buzzard while waiting at the cross for a tractor to come down the boreen. Then we approached.

The Buzzard leaps off its perch, wings partly spread open.

Bird flu has broken out in the Leipzig district. According to the district administration, the virus was detected in a Grimma #poultry #farm with 100 birds. The disease was also confirmed in a dead #buzzard that was discovered in Brandis.

I saw this buzzard sitting there in the afternoon when the sun was already down. It really annoyed me because it was just too dark for a good photo. The next day I was even happier when it sat in the same place again while it was looking for mice. Because it wanted to catch them, it looked as if it had been having fun in the snow

It’s always nice to see these animals up close, especially because I’ve never been anywhere near that close to a buzzard in my city

: The common buzzard (Buteo buteo) is a bird of prey from the Accipitridae family and the most common representative of this family in Central Europe. The common buzzard’s distribution area covers all of Europe, with the exception of islands and northern Scandinavia. The common buzzard is a medium-sized, compact bird of prey. It is 51 to 57 centimetres long and has a wingspan of 113 to 128 centimetres. Adult males in Germany weigh an average of 790 g (622 to 1183 g in general), and females weigh an average of 990 g. The common buzzard lives mainly in small forest areas with adjacent, open landscapes, where it almost exclusively searches for food.

Direct from the workshop :) I'm waiting for my prints of the day to dry a bit before leaving, so why not posting them already.

First, yet another buzzard monotype. I'm overall quite happy, even if there are some details lost or unclear around the head and legs, that I didn't foresee on the plate.

(Btw, so meta, I'm hearing a buzzard right now not far from the workshop! Should be one of the fews that live in Bois de Vincennes :))

Continuing my buzzard-themed series. Today when going to the workshop I forgot the main tool I used for the previous ones, which gave great textures on closeup feathers, so I went back to a more distant image and tried other things.
