Part of this may be my predilection for visiting in August when, as any New Yorker knows, the weather is atrocious. One of my biggest regrets in life was deciding to quit the saxophone after an only a year of learning the basics.
It’s been decades since, but when I see people, like this man, exuding so much confidence in the beautiful music they are making, a pang of envy and regret quivers ever so slightly within me.
Maybe I should try to relearn it.
