Today, I was able to test the audio-to-midi service that Music Blocks contributors made last summer together with my students. Here's what they made:

Some more progress on the Black Hole Generator! I messed a little with particle effects and tried giving it a little Accretion Disk that gets bigger as more stuff gets sucked into the Schwarzschild Radius. It's not perfect yet, and the particles can get a little funky if they're turned down in the settings, but overall I like where this is headed!

I was, quite literally, buying up your domain names, as tangible proof that I was serious in sponsoring your development. My inquire to fund your project so you could hire a full-time developer was also legitimate. If you did not take any of that seriously, that is "you" type problem.

There were people who were trash talking Ultramarine Linux, trolling the development, and here I was trying to be a supporter. "Random" could bitch, complain, and moan, but if I asked, "hey guys, what's up" I got the "give it a rest" attitude. You look at the Fediverse, and until recently, I spoke more about Ultramarine Linux, than the development did. I was very positive, claiming how great the operating system was for newbies. My post history, alone, should speak for itself. Sometimes, good intentions, good deeds, don't yield good results. They finally released v41 on the same day as v42 was release. I kept wanting to help test whatever they wanted to be tested or fund, whatever they wanted to be funded - That is my strong suite. They went out of their way to thank everyone (naming people) who helped, including the people who donated as little as 5 bucks a month. I spent over 200 buck registering and securing Ultramarine and Frya Labs, Domain Names, and was not mention, once. ZenodoHow is the Digital Transformation Affecting Informal Businesses in the Global South? Early Findings from a Rapid Survey in 16 CountriesThe informal sector is by far the world’s largest employer. The International Labour Organization estimates that 60% of jobs are informal. The Accelerator Lab Network of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has detected signals that informal businesses are embracing digital tools across the Global South. This is likely to have far-reaching implications in contexts where informal businesses account for a large part of economic activity. On top of the usual (and generally thought to be beneficial) implications in terms of efficiency and access to customers and suppliers, which are common to formal as well as informal businesses, the digitalization of informal businesses offers a new angle on informality itself. The use of digital tools increases their visibility and legibility to the rest of society. For example, you could think of estimating the number of informal businesses in a city or region by counting the number of vendors on Facebook Marketplace for that city or region. From the same data, you could infer the activities they are involved in, and even reach out to them. This could open new ways for development policies to support and include the owners of informal businesses, similarly with how, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, hundreds of millions of people received income support, many of them, for the first time, through digital channels. In this document, we report on the results of a survey on the use of digital tools by informal businesses in the Global South carried out by the UNDP Accelerator Lab Network. It was designed and deployed in 2022, when the COVID-19 pandemic was accelerating the take-up of digital tools by some businesses and their customers.
