Potenziell gesundheitsschädliches #Nitrat aus Stickstoffdüngern belastet Grundwasser, aus dem das meiste Trinkwasser gewonnen wird. In der Umwelt trägt zu viel Dünger zum Aussterben von #Pflanzen- und #Tierarten sowie zum #Klimawandel bei.

Im #Flussgebiet der Ems werden die erlaubten #Höchstwerte für Nitrat an Grundwassermessstellen vielfach überschritten. Das Umland der Ems ist stark geprägt durch intensive #Tierhaltung, in der viel #Gülle anfällt. Diese bringen die #Bauern als #Dünger auf die Felder aus. Gleichzeitig können sie so die Exkremente entsorgen.

CBS News: Federal funding cuts lead FEMA to cancel classes at National Fire Academy

"The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that National Fire Academy courses were canceled amid a "process of evaluating agency programs and spending to ensure alignment with Administration priorities," according to a notice sent to instructors, students and fire departments. Instructors were told to cancel all future travel until further notice.

Firefighters, EMS providers and other first responders from across the country travel to the NFA's Maryland campus for the federally funded institution's free training programs."

we had an idea for a medical training *tomorrow* but we're having problems finding what we need.

We want to go over #EMS #medical #assessments and we were hoping to find a video of someone doing a patient interview that we could have people scribe as it played.

A video would enable us to stop and review key points, but so far all we've found is proctored stuff that wouldn't meet our needs.

Mithilfe von #Wärmepumpen wird die Wärme des Flusswassers genutzt – eine Lösung besonders für die denkmalgeschützte #Altstadt.

Das 50-Millionen-Euro-Projekt spart jährlich 6.000 t CO₂ ein. Der Netzausbau dauert bis zu sechs Jahre und könnte Vorbild für andere Städte sein.

Hmm, apparently they're going to staff EMS at the ambulance bay of the hospital today (to babysit patients before ER official intakes them) in order to free up ambulances from waiting there. 😬 (they have not done that since the height of the pandemic, i.e. when they were setting up tents to hold patients). "It's really busy" says the paramedic in the family. #EMS #VenturaCounty
