#fascists

Just read a post by an American, lamenting that "America is gone". I'm sorry, but you're not allowed to say that.

Us #Europeans and Canadians, we can say that. Asians, Mexicans, Central and South Americans, and Africans can say it too, although they'd probably eyeroll and say that "America went a long time ago".

No, Americans are obliged to say "The #fascists are trying to take my fucking country! No fucking way!"

You need to fight them today and tomorrow, and take your country back. Or give in to despair and it'll really be gone by then. The rest of us are already starting to do our bit, so hop to it.

It's getting boring and annoying that so many #left leaning people talk out of both sides of their mouth when it comes to #AI. They complain about violating #copyright and #IP, concepts that support #capitalism, and invented by #capitalists, while also whining about capitalism. Do you support the institutions of capitalism or not? Make up your fucking minds. Shit like this is what makes people roll their eyes about the left. One of the things I like about #RichardDWolff is that he doesn't make the #fascists arguments for them, because he doesn't acknowledge they have any merit to begin with.

There are several reasons #secession is a terrible idea, even if we don't agree that it was settled in the 1860s.

One is that there are human beings who live in so-called red states, who will be victimized by the #fascists. We have no right to abandon them to be murdered.

Another is that secession won't bring peace. Because fascists have made clear they don't want to peacefully coexist with democracy, they want to destroy it.

#LawrenceBritt #CharacteristicsOfFascism Numbers 1 and 11...

1. Powerful and Continuing #Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of #patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. #Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

11. Disdain for #Intellectuals and the #Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to #HigherEducation and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other #academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

Trump targets 'anti-American ideology' at Smithsonian museums

by Max Matza, 3/27/2025

"US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order targeting the Smithsonian Institution, which operates more than 20 museums and research centres visited by millions yearly in Washington DC and New York City.

"The order directs the vice-president to 'eliminate improper, divisive, or anti-American ideology' from the institute's museums, centres and the National Zoo in Washington.

"It also directs the interior secretary to restore federal properties, including parks, memorials and statues, which 'have been improperly removed or changed in the last five years to perpetuate a false revision of history'.

"The move is part of Trump's effort to shape American culture, in addition to politics."

#Trump #fascists

"President Donald Trump’s executive order targeting the Smithsonian Institution, mandating the removal of what he calls 'improper ideology,' is being described as 'chilling,' amid warnings of fascism. The order also criticizes the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Women’s History Museum, and the American Art Museum.

(. . .)

It appears to be an attempt to push back on efforts to examine and dismantle racism, white supremacy, and misogyny.

National security, defense, and intelligence investigative reporter Jeff Stein commented, “Trump goes full-on Soviet with intent to scrub Smithsonian museums etc of ‘improper ideology’.”

Alternet.org · 'Full-on Soviet’: Trump’s 'improper ideology' purge blasted as 'fascist thuggery'By David Badash

Attacking the #smithsonian ? Really? And assigning unqualified cronies “ to remove improper ideology from such properties, and shall recommend to the President any additional actions necessary to fully effectuate such policies”.
Museum of#DegenerateArt anyone?

Join me, proud American with what JD and the gang would deem “improper ideology”, and fight the #fascists .
Expose some shameful truths and some toxic lies. The whole of our history must be known and then let’s do better.
