@harld Could we please add
@element
For instant Messaging apps, as an alternative to Whatsapp, Signal etc..

It should have a Non-US ( #Element is based in UK), and a Privacy label.
Also, it is #opensource and #federated

Although many people are flocking to #signal now (which is a lot better then Whatsapp), Signal can not be controlled by US government, it can be taken down by them. At this point, even that should be taken into account.
Element uses the #Matrix protocol. It is awsum

Posting and pinning this because Soatok's misinformation has infected far too many. *Everyone* needs to read this in its entirety, *especially* all the #Signal Kool-Aid drinkers.

*And* the response from OMEMO author Tim Henke, which Soatok saw fit to redact from their post comments.

what #spotify #alternatives are out there? specifically looking for something #federated like #funkwhale, but i’m getting the feeling it won’t really replace my music discovery itch. i’d love something that has a baseline catalog of some music that i already listen to/want to listen to, and i can’t seem to find a good way to find pods. would love something advice, i hate indirectly giving my money to rogan and tate

So I came up with this idea of cheap, #federated social network based only on emails.

It works kind of like a #mailing list with small change that all lists are federated and web apps capture their content which is merged together.

FUUUUUUUUUCK, setting up #procmail, #mailhog and all other shit to test it is like walking through PinkPop on molly during Electic Callboy performence.

WHY?! Why it's sooo hard to setup email correctly.

As our digital lives in the US become less stable and private, I wanted to figure out how to choose what search engine my browser uses.

I just added a new default search engine option for my Firefox on my MacBook (Mac OS).

1) add an extension to Firefox to allow me to add a different default search engine:
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef
