Interesting:
Docs is the result of a joint effort lead by the French (DINUM) and German
governments (ZenDiS). We are always looking for new public partners (we are currently onboarding the Netherlands
). Feel free to reach out if you are interested in using or contributing to docs.
The European Space Agency (ESA) operates a constellation of satellites known as the Copernicus Sentinels. Collectively the system generates terabytes of Earth Observation (EO) data daily. Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) is a free, public platform that provides access to Copernicus data and a range of analysis and visualization tools. A talk delivered at FOSDEM 2025 dives into the details:

The Flow Battery Research Collective (FBRC) are building an open source battery. Technology writer Koen Vervloesem did a nice write-up about their #FOSDEM talk in the Energy devroom. FBRC works on redox flow batteries which are better suited for long-term, stationary storage and less hazardous than Li-ion batteries. FBRC plan to democratize flow battery technology by developing an open source flow battery, starting with a development kit.
A few years ago, I gave my kid a #PostgreSQL elephant plushie (here named El-El). At #fosdem this year, I got a selfie with the human sized PostgreSQL mascot. I was asked today when I would bring big El-El to our house.
Time to start a new project and a new daily dev diary
Following an inspiring discussion with Schabi from the #NewPipe team at #FOSDEM, I'm planning to build a YouTube client based on NewPipe for #SailfishOS.
I plan to write about my progress every day
Once again, mostly for my own benefit, but anyone interested to follow along is very welcome!
This year marked #Luanti’s second consecutive appearance at #FOSDEM! Held in Brussels, Belgium, FOSDEM is the largest free and open source software conference in Europe. Fresh off our recent rebranding and new release cycle, FOSDEM was a fantastic opportunity to collect feedback and update people on what’s happening in the Luanti world
Google has signed a contract with Israel to supply Tech support used in the Palestinian genocide. A US$1.2 billion deal, with Amazon in the mix.
It's not the first time Google has been implicated in this type of crime.
Google obeys the every command of Trump-musk fascism, the Gulf of Mexico is just the one example that makes you laugh.
So when you have google main sponsor of FOSDEM and debian going dancing to GSoC, and many others in the FLOSS and Open movement doing the same,
I say to you straight out:
You're embracing fascism, you're legitimizing genocide, you're part of the problem!

Sadly, I got COVID-19 at #FOSDEM and missed the last day (and my own keynote!).
I noticed you're replying in this thread where I was asking to chat with Affiliate Reps who had questions (since they're my constituents). If you are, I'd like to chat offline in a more in depth conversation.
Also happy to answer your questions here in public if that suits you better, I'm just very longwinded so this format is tough for me!

As I told earlier here in a longer thread with @zygoon , Yuning Liang, founder of DeepComputing has donated their RISC-V board for Framework laptops to OpenPrinting on the last FOSDEM. Thanks a lot!!
Now we can test the printing stack on this platform, including making Snaps for RISC-V.
Printing works so far, by the way.
And here are my adventures of setting it up:

Lovely #FOSDEM write up by Arya over on @hackaday It was a real pleasure to have Arya visit the FreeCAD and @kicad joint stand. https://hackaday.com/2025/03/03/fosdem-2025-a-hardware-hackers-haven/
... and at last the last of 4 posts about visiting Brussels to attend #FOSDEM 2025
And I repeat, thanks to the volunteers who made it an awesome experience
