3 new versions of Assynt Storms on my Quinag base have gone up in the shop. Quinag is a 100% Bluefaced Leicester 4ply superwash wool, and each 100g hank contains approx 400m of yarn. I don't often do the Assynt Storms style of dyeing on the Quinag base, so if you like it, grab it!

Two new "Assynt Storms" colourways are up in the shop now. They are both on my Reliable Sock Yarn base which contains approx 420m of yarn and is made up of 75% wool and 25% nylon.
Any hank named Assynt Storms is dyed using a technique that results in a colourway that is unique and unrepeatable.

I don't do shade cards, simply because I have so many colours in my range, and colours look very different on different bases, so my shade card would be never ending and a constant chore to keep up to date. But I needed a few cards for a specific project, and they are pretty. I'll give them that.
First 2024 event applied for. It sometimes feels like the treadmill of show applications is endless!
Working on a super secret assignment, and it feels good to be analysing colour in such detail again. Breaking every colour up that I need to use, work out quantities precisely, while still maintaining a bit of artistic flair.
Working with one of my current favourite colours - Midnight at the Village Hall. So difficult to capture the intensity and deep shades in this variegated colour, but this got quite close. I'm using it as my main colour in my version of the pattern Pressed Flowers Pullover. My contrast is an orange/red shade, so I won't be missed when I'm wearing it.
I've added colours in my Reliable Sock Yarn base to the shop today - including the 3 shown below which are Was That a Kingfisher? The Weathered Fairy Goes Swimming and The Greeness of Life. The yarn is 75% wool, 25% nylon to give it some extra strength for socks. Enjoy!

I finally blocked the Alaska Hat. Yarn is Blue Brick Aurora. Mittens to match are from the remainder and I added scraps of blue and gold. Pattern is Paddle to the Sea, a favourite NFB of Canada film. That is all 4 colours now incorporated in this piece. The blue is much brighter than I wanted, but it does add a nice flash of colour.
