Leider unwahrscheinlich, dass Eisvögel sich je auf meiner Veranda blicken lassen (dazu liegt die einfach geografisch falsch) , aber "haste keinen, mal ich einen".

It has been a while since I've walked around with camera. The primary goal was to have a walk and see what I could spot. Secondary was to spot this kingfisher and get to know his routines a bit more. Actually managing to catch him on sensor was a nice bonus.

The image features a small bird perched on a thin branch amidst a tangle of dry, leafless branches and twigs. The bird has a vibrant blue back and a bright orange belly, with a sharp, pointed beak. It is positioned centrally in the frame, with its body facing slightly to the left. The background is a mix of brown and gray tones, with the ground covered in fallen leaves and branches, suggesting a natural, possibly wetland environment. The lighting is soft, indicating either an overcast day or a shaded area. The bird's vivid colors contrast sharply with the muted background, drawing attention to its presence.

It's always exciting to see a common kingfisher. It's not so unusual here at the lake, but usually they fly by so fast. This time we spotted one resting on a branch after eating a fish and had time to film before they flew away.
