#Thailand's #mobile market is now effectively a cosy #duopoly - it's facetious of #BangkokPost to keep up the pretense of #market #competition after witnessing the #regulator and powers of the day failing to stop the True-DTAC merger. #telecoms #BigFail #journalism

The LED is running at 48.6 C. Pretty good considering the maximum operating temperature is 105 C 🥳.

What's not so good is the voltage regulator temperature, which is at 50 C. We're in winter now and the room was at 19 C, so it's running at 31 C above ambient. In the summer heatwaves it could reach 35 C + 31 C = 66 C.

While the recommended maximum is 85 C, those 66 C won't help achieve the goal of a lifespan that is counted in decades 🤔.

"That area, where these existing projects are, that's where #Alberta's best #wind #projects are now in the #nogo zone... #Restrictions will affect 57 projects worth $14 billion... The rule, which had been delayed for >1 yr as industry groups have threatened lawsuits, is less robust than #WallStreet #regulator’s original #climate disclosure plan, which would have forced public companies to account for not just their own #emissions, but also those throughout their #SupplyChains. But it still represents 1 of the most far-reaching measures by the #federal #government to push companies toward climate #accountability….

The suspension of operations on Thursday (Oct 12) by Malaysian budget carrier MYAirline should provide an important lesson for regulators in Malaysia.

While it is not unusual for an airline to cease operations, particularly a start-up airline, it is unusual for regulators not to be aware of airlines’ financial issues, and not to hold regular discussions with struggling airlines.

'DC's made it very clear they're not interested in private equity & hedge funds buying a national news service, & operating it,' Allen said. In May, PE firm Standard General shelved its $8.6B bid for major station group Tegna after regulators looked at its post-merger plans. 'DC isn't impressed with the way PE & hedge funds handled newspapers & hastened their demise. So good luck going in there & buying platforms that deliver 80% of the news to America.'

Big business #lobbies against #heat protections for workers as #US boils
It could take years for federal #regulator #OSHA to set new heat rules as excessive temperatures are killing Americans at work. #Business groups and #lobbyists have aggressively opposed efforts at state and federal levels to enact heat protection standards for #workers. TX gov, #GregAbbott rescinded city ordinances that mandated heat protections for workers. The move was applauded by business groups.

Surprise - Not - Google bucks calls for a new #AI #regulator - really...gee-whiz. Why ever is it that #BigTech determines who, when, where and how they are "regulated." #TechGiant #Google is urging the federal government to divvy up oversight of #artificialintelligence tools across agencies rather than setting up a single regulator dedicated to the issue, striking a contrast with rivals like #Microsoft and #OpenAI in a new filing to the Biden administration. washingtonpost.com/politics/20
