Alibaba's research arm, DAMO Academy, has launched its first server-grade #RISCV processor, the C930, designed for high-performance computing and aimed at rivaling Intel and AMD's offerings.

The open-source design of RISC-V makes it an attractive choice for Chinese firms like Alibaba, Huawei, and Tencent, who are reducing their reliance on foreign suppliers due to increasing US trade restrictions. The C930 is expected to begin shipping to clients later in March 2025.
