This week, a very special "THANK YOU" to my daughter, who not only drove me to and from the dentist (where I was put under heavy sedation) AND did my grocery shopping, but she also cleaned up my car and clothes after my stomach… well, "didn't make it all the way home okay." (I'm feeling much better now.)

I am one very lucky Mom.

I'm on a #waitinglist for an #NHS #dentist & have been offered a #checkup at #NHSdental #price. But the dentist's bio is focused on fancy #treatments rather than basics. This makes me nervous.
Add that to #Covid concerns & I've got a conundrum.
Having needed a #rootcanal #treatment decades ago I know how agonising #toothache can be.
I don't trust all these new plans & can't afford upfront #privatedental fees.
Anyone found a reasonable solution?

I need to make a decision on root canal vs implant.

Root canal is quick and cheap but won't be a bite & cosmetic improvement. The cosmetic is just a small gap in my lower teeth, I'm not insecure about it. The angle of the tooth is what's causing me to feel like I need to physically push it periodically and that causes me some discomfort.

The implant is time exhaustive and expensive but can address the bite & cosmetic issue.

Any advice anyone??

My relationship with my dentist is basically "catch and release." They tear up my mouth a bit and then release me back into the wild until they catch me again next week.

Glad to be out of the #dental chair after 2 and a half hours. But the good news is, they didn’t have to #extract my #tooth today, they were able to do a #rootcanal on it instead. @actuallyautistic

i spent 90 minutes at the #dentist yesterday getting phase 1 (of 2) of a dental crown. my final appt in 2 weeks will hopefully end this adventure. hopefully!

this will literally cap off a 6year saga including… toothache, #cavity, emergency cavity repair, infection, #antibiotics, #RootCanal, gum disease and finally a much more invasive than anticipated grinding and (soon) permanent capping of the dead tooth, overall costing about $8k when all said and done.

tldr?

look after your #teeth folks!
