#transitioning

Stuff I've had to remind #Transgender and #Nonbinary people about #Transitioning a lot...

1) You do not have to fully #transition. Some people just take hormone blockers, some lower the dose of the new #hormones after they're happy with results. Surgery is not only optional, but isn't even an option until after a year of #HRT.

2) You do not have to transition publicly, or on paperwork. Many transgender people quietly go on HRT and come out to friends and family without ever changing their papers or public appearance.

3) In the US, you have a rock-solid first amendment right to talk about being trans in public, regardless of what sort of transitioning you have or haven't done, or any other law. Talking about it publicly is what builds support.

4) In the US, the Supreme Court voted 6 to 3, in Bostock v. Clayton County, that discrimination on the basis of being #gay or #trans is discrimination on the basis of sex and therefore illegal.
