I've got a weird problem with @libreoffice ...

Whenever I'm using fractional scaling, the little 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ (etc.) buttons to change the detail level (collapse all of the groups) are way too small, and kinda misshapen (overlapping each other).

When I'm *not* using fractional scaling, they're **still** too small, but not overlapping.

I'm running the native package on #Debian #Trixie.

Just FYI, I'm running LO with the `QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb` env var, because otherwise I get *really* weird fractional scaling issues on #KDE #Plasma #wayland

But *this* particular problem I had even when running KDE #X11 on #Plasma 5.27 on Debian Stable. :/

#LibreOffice #LossyPNG

Still playing around with #OpenBSD on my Desktop PC and to be honest I thought I'd hate it but you know what ? It's actually kind of growing on me. Yes I know I can use #SwayWM with #Wayland but the #Xorg stuff is kind of nostalgically nice, A blast from the past. Also I'm not that worried if I break it as I can just reinstall and start again until I figure it out totally.
What are desktops / terminals and so on are you OpenBSD folk running on your setups ?

#PSA: things that are still broken in #KDE #Plasma #Wayland session (minor) as of 6.3.4

  • Windowshade only works with X11 windows
  • No compatibility with wtype, and ydotool doesn't handle Unicode (or at least, not emoji) (So, now way to inject text into the active window, like for an emoji picker)
  • No way (that I've found so far) to get the title/name of the active window
    • Correction: this is doable with kdotool: kdotool getwindowname $(kdotool getactivewindow)

That's it so far. I'll add to this if I find/remember anything else.

One more thing I've just observed: the mouse cursor doesn't disappear in LibreOffice Calc when just moving the selection cursor with the arrow keys. It does disappear (as I have specified in settings) when you actually type something in, though.

Mind you, that's through an X11 layer on top of #wayland, but I don't think either is to blame.

Now the keyb is again connected to the laptop's USB-A ports. This will be a problem tomorrow when I have to disconnect everything and connect it to my work's laptop (it's the main reason to want to have everything connected to the display in the first place). Since the behaviour is not present in Mac, I would blame Linux, but I'm pretty sure the HW must be part of the problem. /4

OK, speaking of #Valheim
I've been playing on #Linux, using #Steam, in #Sway (#Wayland, obv.) and while I have an #NVidia GPU, it doesn't seem to be getting used? Yes, it's an older GPU, but even at around 10FPS on the lowest quality video settings, I'm consistently only getting about 12 FPS, which... it's less fun. It's still playable for somebody like me who is an old and doesn't really do a lot of high-FPS gaming or whatever (as you can tell) but I'm genuinely wondering what I'm doing wrong.

Anybody have any tips? The usual googling turns up lots of "won't launch" but that isn't the problem I'm having.

LXQt 2.2 Released with Enhanced Wayland Support | @linuxiac

「 The team has addressed a long-standing quirk in multi-screen setups by adopting screen names instead of screen numbers — a necessary shift, as Wayland does not define a “primary screen” in the traditional sense 」

Odd, #LibreOffice does not like having different scaling factors on two monitors.

I've got 1.8x scaling on my left (laptop) monitor and 1.0x on my right (HDMI). It looks like they're both getting 1.8x scaling, so everything is huge on my main (right) monitor.

I had to add QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb to the environment variables using the #KDE #Plasma menu editor to force it to run in X11 mode (XWayland), and now it's fine.
