Das Fiber Life Festival fand Ende März auf der ikonischen Tianmu Plaza in 杭州 statt. Das Festival drehte sich um FIBER. Also ganz klassisch um Wolle, Garne, Stoffe, Spinnen, Weben ... aber auch um Themen wie Recycling, Kunst und Life-Balance.

Doch auch um Textilien als Metapher für das Miteinander-Verwoben-Sein und eine Gemeinschaft von Gleichgesinnten.

Is it possible to #weave a twill tape with tablets on a #backstrapLoom? (apparently yes)

Is it a good use of my time to do so, when I can buy twill tape from the haberdasher? (not in linen, and not in the colours I can buy linen thread in)

Does Nm 24 yarn / thread mean that it will take forever?

Note that I've started with a few rows of plain weave, just to stabilize everything, and I've only woven the bare minimum I felt confortable with before removing the warm from the clamps and moving it to the backstrap loom.

Also, this brown yarn is cotton, not linen, I'm keeping the nice linen for when I'm sure that this whole thing can actually work.

First weaving project on a four shaft tabletop loom I was gifted. Second weaving ever.

Bits of it I'm not pleased with (first two color rows are hidden for a reason haha) but overall not bad. Learned some things, will do even better next time.

Anyone in the #Fediverse who can do #knitting #crochet #mending or clothes #repair? I bought a mini-loom like this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=apxsStaGNhc and there’s plenty of tutorials to teach how to #weave but none that explain how to calculate the length of the #yarn. When I look at explanations with warp and what not, i feel totally dumb, it’s exhausting. I just wanna mend my clothes. Can someone explain like I am a 5-year-old please? Or point me to calculator that’s not for socks. Gratitude in advance
